The Izmir International Short Film Festival, has become one of the most important short film festivals in Turkey.

Since its establishment in 2000, The International Izmir Short Film Festival, has become one of the most important short film festivals in Turkey. Being the sole film festival in the city of Izmir, it has an important role in the cultural landscape of the City.

Within the framework of the competition program, fiction, documentary, animation and experimental films from all over the world compete in national and international categories and the winners are awarded with Golden Cat awards.

Each year important professionals of the cinema world are invited to the jury, bringing about a vivid and creative competition atmosphere among the participants .

Along with the competition program, short film panorama program presents carefully selected films from the world and screenings are supported by Q&A sessions, pannel discussions and workshops to the benefit of artists and audience, creating an important meeting point between film makers and the audience.

International Izmir Short Film Festival is continuing its efforts to contribute to the effective representation of the short film makers in Turkey and abroad.
This festival holds every year on November and the participants usually are expected to submit their works till August.
